As part of the Love Woodbridge and Melton project, Suffolk County Council has so far secured more than £5million in funding from Active Travel England to develop walking and cycling schemes in the two areas.

At the event, businesses, community groups, school pupils and parents will be able to find out more about the Love Woodbridge and Melton project and discuss how more people can be encouraged to get out and about and enjoy the local area on foot and by bike.

There will also be a children’s colouring competition, balance bikes and e-bikes to have a look at, and Dr Bike will be providing free bike MOTs and minor repairs.

“It’s well known that people who go outdoors regularly enjoy better overall health and wellbeing. By improving our outdoor spaces, we can reduce loneliness, make it safer for children to get to school, not to mention creating cleaner air thanks to less road traffic.
“I would encourage the people of Woodbridge and Melton to take this opportunity to meet the team behind the project, and to share their thoughts about how we can make the streets more inviting for walking, cycling and scooting.”
