Joint Chief Executives

Suffolk County Council is led by Joint Chief Executives Mark Ash and Andrew Cook, who provide strategic leadership for the organisation and ensure the council delivers high quality services, meets its statutory responsibilities, and continues to serve residents effectively.

Mark and Andrew bring extensive experience of Suffolk County Council and a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the county. Their shared leadership model provides the capacity to guide the organisation through change while maintaining continuity and stability.

They work closely together on major strategic priorities, while each taking responsibility for specific areas of leadership as required. Their focus is on enabling the council to operate efficiently, make timely decisions and adapt to evolving needs.

Mark and Andrew are committed to supporting colleagues across the organisation and leading ongoing improvement, organisational development and long‑term planning for Suffolk’s future. Together, they ensure the council continues to operate responsibly and deliver positive outcomes for communities across the county.
