The Board has a duty to "encourage integrated working" between health, care, police and other public services in order to improve wellbeing outcomes for Suffolk.
It's responsible for delivery of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and the county's Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy. The first Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy was approved in 2013. It was refreshed in 2016 and again in 2019. The current refreshed Strategy document is available here.
The bodies represented on the Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board include:

- the police
- the voluntary sector
- district and borough councils
