Disposal of soil, rubble and plasterboard

Cost per bag or load for taking soil, rubble and plasterboard to a 'council tip' and which Household Waste Recycling Centre will accept plasterboard.

From 1 April 2016, residents will be able to bring unlimited amounts rubble, soil, hardcore and plasterboard* to Suffolk Recycling Centres and a charge will be made according to the amount presented, starting from £2 per 25kg bag.

The new arrangements remove the current two bag limit on these types of materials at Recycling Centres.

Plasterboard price list from 1 April 2016

*Size of one standard sheet of plasterboard is determined at 2.4m x 1.2m (7’8” x 3’9”).

Plasterboard* is only accepted at the Recycling Centres in:

  • Bury St Edmunds, Rougham Hill IP33 2RW
  • Lowestoft, Hadenham Road NR33 7NF
  • Foxhall, Foxhall Road, Brightwell IP10 0HT
  • Stowmarket, Old Bury Road IP14 1JQ

How to pay

  1. Report to staff who'll decide how much you need to pay based on weight.
  2. Payment must be made by debit or credit card; and you'll be given a receipt.

You cannot pay by cash.
