Suffolk Women in Fire Together (SWIFT) network

SWIFT is a supportive network open to ALL members of staff (operational or non-operational, manager or non-manager, male or female) who are interested in supporting women in Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service by:

  • supporting all employees of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, evolving this women’s network to make positive changes for all fire personnel.
  • ensuring women are heard and have an influential voice in their work, development, support and in the production of procedures and policies.
  • raising awareness of challenges that face women in the fire service and to make positive steps to find solutions.

SWIFT’s mission

SWIFT will provide support to all fire personnel promoting a culture which supports women to achieve their full potential and ensure that women’s voices are heard. Raising awareness of obstacles and challenges that face women in the fire service, the SWIFT network will make positive steps to find solutions.

In a rapidly changing environment, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion plays a key part in how we all work. Everyone in Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is part of a committed and dedicated team, whatever their role in the organization, we work as one team to provide an outstanding public service.

HeForShe

Since the HeForShe movement launched in 2014, millions of people around the world have signed up to the United Nations global solidarity movement for gender equality.

‘Diversity and the collective intelligence it brings to organisations is the key to our success. HeForShe plays a really important part in that.’- Former Chief Fire Officer, Mark Hardingham.

SWIFT (Suffolk Women In Fire Together) are proud to have launched this campaign and welcome your support. Gender Equality is not just a women’s issue, it’s an issue for all.
