Good progress continues to be made on the ground investigations that are currently taking place along the River Orwell as part of the preparation for the Upper Orwell Crossings in Ipswich.

The works on land have been continuing to schedule, and there have been a number of successful weeks of drilling operations in the water from our two jack-up barges, as off-shore works continue to progress well.

Currently we are continuing with boreholes and testing the conditions in the area adjacent to the navigation channel that allows access to the marina.

Upon completion of this area, the jack-up barges will move past the Environment Agency’s tidal defence construction site to a new location in the New Cut. This will take place later this week.

Public information event

A public information event is to take place in the ground floor foyer of Dance East, Foundry Lane, Ipswich, on Tuesday 6 March 2018.

The event, which will run between 12 noon and 7 pm, is a drop-in event and will allow members of the public to meet the team behind the project and ask questions about the Upper Orwell Crossings.
