Suffolk County Council budget consultation 2018/2019

Our consultation on Suffolk County Council's budget priorities 2018/2019 closed on 22 December 2017.

This consultation has now closed.

Like all councils, Suffolk County Council faces significant funding pressures over the coming years.

We are considering a 1.99% general council tax rise in addition to a further 3% increase in the Social Care Precept which is ring-fenced to support Adult Care services which includes care for older people, supporting people with learning disabilities and a range of other important services delivered in the community.

Even if this takes place, the Council still needs to make savings of more than £26.9 million over the next year, and continued ongoing savings in the years after that.

This means the Council must look at how it can make savings across the services it provides, and where it should prioritise spending. This may mean reducing service levels in some instances.

As part of this decision-making process, the Council is interested to hear what local residents think about the money we spend on services.
