Post-16 Travel Policy for the 2021/2022 school year

Consultation on the proposed changes to the Post-16 Travel Policy for the 2021/2022 school year.

This consultation is closed.

This consultation ran from Monday 4 January to Monday 15 February 2021.

What is this consultation about?

We're seeking your views about amendments to our proposed Post-16 Travel policy for the 2021/2022 school year.

The amendments to the policy are designed to ensure that the policy is clearer for parents/carers to understand the travel options for their child.

What is being proposed?

We are proposing to:

1. Extend the Eligibility Criteria to:

a) support Post-16 travel to the nearest Suffolk school sixth form for students who live nearer to a school sixth form outside of Suffolk; and
b) enable students to attend the sixth form in their Transport Priority Area when travel to that school had been protected under the School Travel Policy for 5-16 year olds in September 2019

2. Make the annual increase to the charge of Post-16 travel and the cost of a spare seat.
3. Indicate what sustainable travel options are available for Post-16s.
4. Describe in greater detail the Independent Travel Training service.
