Our consultation on a proposal to build a new special school on part of the former site of Ipswich Academy in Lindbergh Road closed on Monday 19 November 2018.

This consultation has now closed.

Suffolk County Council are consulting on a proposal to build a new special school on part of the former site of Ipswich Academy in Lindbergh Road, Ipswich.

The new school will provide places for 60 pupils aged 9 to 16 with a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) need. The school is planned to open in September 2020 in a new single storey building.

This non-statutory pre-application planning consultation will enable us to gather the views of parents, local residents and potential building users prior to the submission of the planning application and does not affect the right to comment on the proposals during the statutory planning process.
