Lakenheath new primary school pre-application planning consultation

Our consultation on a proposal to build a new primary school in Lakenheath closed on Monday 5 February 2018.

This consultation has now closed.

Suffolk County Council is consulting on a proposal to build a new primary school and pre-school in Lakenheath. The new school is needed for September 2019 to meet demand for additional places in the village and the potential for new housing developments to be approved.

We plan to open the new school with 30 places in each year group. However, the infrastructure for the new school will mean that the school will be able to expand to offer 60 places in each year group if demand continues to grow.

This non-statutory pre-application planning consultation will enable us to gather the views of parents, local residents and potential building users prior to the submission of the planning application and does not affect the right to comment on the proposals during the statutory planning consultation process.

The school would be located on land to the north of Station Road in Lakenheath.

We held a drop in session at Lakenheath Library on Monday 22 January from 3pm to 8pm.
