Grimwade Street, Ipswich - Proposed Removal of Loading Bays

Our consultation on the proposed removal of Loading Bays along Grimwade Street, Ipswich

Suffolk Highways is proposing to revoke the existing Legal Order and remove the Loading Bays (outside numbers 28 – 50) on Grimwade Street, Ipswich between its junctions with Star Lane and Rope Walk. These short-stay bays were used to serve the existing retail units but are no longer required as these units are being replaced with a new residential development. The removal of the bays will allow the new residential units to have parking provision clear of the public highway and allow the existing vehicular access to be re-located to accommodate vehicular visibility splays.

If Suffolk Highways receive positive feedback to these proposals, then this will be legally advertised later in the year and you will have the opportunity to formally object to the scheme or make a formal representation of support. We would advise that this is an informal public consultation and we are seeking your views and comments only.

Should you have any comments regarding these proposals, please contact us at consultations@suffolkhighways.org by Tuesday 24 November 2020.
