Admissions to schools in Suffolk for the 2021/2022 school year

Suffolk County Council held a consultation on the proposed admission arrangements to schools for the 2021/2022 school year

Between 1 October and 12 November 2019, Suffolk County Council asked your views about its proposed admission arrangements for the 2021/2022 school year. You can find details of these admission arrangements below.

We were proposing to:

  1. make one change to the Admissions Oversubscription criteria which is to amend the sibling criterion. The oversubscription criteria is used to prioritise places when a school receives more applications than the number of places available.
  2. update the proposed Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme to provide the key dates for the 2021/2022 normal admissions round, and to amend the wording if none of a parent’s preferences can be met.
  3. Change the terminology from ‘parent and carers’ to ‘parent’ in line with education law.

Further information on the proposed changes can be found by downloading the Summary of the proposed admission arrangements to schools in Suffolk for the 2021/2022 school year.

The consultation is now closed.

We also published the Full Proposed Admission Arrangements for 2021/2022 throughout the consultation period.
