Careers and Enterprise

How we work to inspire and motivate young people to help them make informed choices about their future by making greater connections with the world of work.

Careers and enterprise

Suffolk’s educational attainment needs to improve to meet future skills requirements and to drive our economy. To do this, we need to raise the aspirations of our young people by inspiring and motivating them to succeed.

Through collaborating with employers from all sectors and professions, we can improve the employability of our young people and meet the needs of businesses.

To do this we are working with all secondary schools and colleges to create a network of high profile business Enterprise Advisers that will work with senior leaders to enhance their connections with local employers.

We are also supporting primary schools to develop greater links with businesses through our Work Inspiration Brokerage Service, so that children from a younger age begin to understand the skills and needs of employers and the local labour market.
