Raising the Bar history

About the history of the Raising the Bar programme including the RSA No school an island report.

Raising the Bar was initiated thorough an independent inquiry carried out by the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).

The RSA worked in partnership with mentors, teachers, governors and other professionals to consider where efforts should be concentrated to maximise the benefit for young people.

The RSA published its findings to the independent inquiry in a report called No school an island.

Raising the Bar was launched in 2012. You can read more about the progress on our Raising the Bar performance page.
