If your works could affect a structure on a highway which is maintained by us, you need to complete a Section 63 Notice and send it to us as the bridge authority for highways in Suffolk.
This is typically, but not exclusively, where excavation works are within 5 metres of a highway structure. The works promoter is responsible for precisely locating the works and any affected structures.Download a notice of work form
How to apply
When works are being planned:
- check to see if a structure could be affected
- download the Section 63 Notice of works affecting a highway structure form
- complete it and save it
Submitting the form
Please send the completed form to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The completed Section 63 Notice Form must be received by us no later than 7 working days before submitting a Section 55 notice.
For emergency works, as defined in Section 52, a notice must still be submitted as soon as reasonably practicable after completion of the works.
