The 'greatest show on earth' starts on the 27th July 2012 in London.
A global audience of 4 billion, 15,000 athletes from 205 nations, 46 sports and 70,000 volunteers will see the UK host the largest event the world ever stages. From the wonder of the opening ceremony to the thrills of the sporting action it will capture the excitement and galvanise the whole nation.
Yet it is much more than a festival of sport. It provides the opportunity to be a force for good, leaving a genuine and meaningful legacy for London and the whole of the UK.
Here in Suffolk we are working hard to maximise this once in a generation opportunity for our communities to benefit socially, economically and environmentally from the Games.
