Over 36% of Suffolk is either nationally or locally designated for its wildlife or landscape quality. In a East Anglian Daily Times poll (April 2015) 64% of people said that the countryside and wildlife here are the best things about living in Suffolk.
The natural environment of the county:
- supports the economic growth of sectors including tourism, food and drink
- is vital to people’s health and wellbeing, with mental and physical health benefits known to be associated with experiences of nature
