SCC Cabinet approved the Stowmarket and Stowupland Schools Reorganisation - Determination of Statutory Notices.

Consultation in the Stowmarket and Stowupland area ran from Monday 10 September and ended on 9 November 2012. On 11 December 2012 Cabinet approved the statutory notices for these areas. Further information can be found here.

SCC Cabinet approved extending the age range of St Benedict's Catholic School in Bury St Edmunds to include up to 60 Year 7 and Year 8 pupils from September 2013.

SCC Cabinet approved the implementation of the changes to schools in the Thurston area from a three-tier to a two-tier structure.

The Suffolk County Council Cabinet approved publication of statutory notices for changes to schools in the Thurston Area.

The notices were published on Friday 3 February 2012 and can be found in the current consultations section.

16 December 2011

In response to an appeal by the governors of St Louis Catholic Middle School, the Schools Adjudicator has overturned the decision approved by Cabinet in September 2011 to extend St Edmunds Catholic Primary School and St Benedict's Catholic School and to close St Louis Catholic Middle School.

The schools and Diocese will consider the adjudication before deciding on the next steps.

SCC cabinet approved the capital funding to enable a change to two-tier in the Thurston area should it be supported through the consultation process. This allows consultation to start in October 2011.
