Suffolk County Council Budget Consultation 2017/2018

The Suffolk County Council Budget Consultation 2017/2018 is an opportunity for you to give feedback which will help inform the budget setting process.

The consultation is now closed.

This consultation was an opportunity to give views on where Suffolk County Council should prioritise spending. The feedback we receive will be used to inform the budget setting process.

Government grant funding continues to reduce, so in 2017/18 the council is looking to make savings of more than £46m in order to set a balanced budget.

We are at an early stage of the budget setting process and therefore some details are still to be confirmed, such as the settlement from Government and income from business rate and council tax. Until these are confirmed we use forecast figures based on estimates from borough and district councils and discussions with Government to give decision makers the most accurate information possible at any given time. As part of any budget setting process it is not uncommon for forecasts to change to reflect new information.
