Thurston

With the support of the County Council, headteachers in the Thurston area developed plans to move to a two-tier system.

There was public consultation on their plans during the autumn of 2011.

In April 2012 Suffolk's Cabinet approved the following changes to schools in the Thurston area.

Bardwell CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be remain at 15 places per year.

Barnham CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 15 places per year.

Barningham CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 15 places per year.

Cockfield CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 15 places per year.

Elmswell CP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will rise to 45 places per year.

Great Barton CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will remain at 30 places per year.

Honington CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will remain at 30 places per year.

Hopton CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 15 places per year.

Ixworth CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be remain at 30 places per year.

Norton CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 20 places per year.

Rattlesden CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 20 places per year.

Rougham CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will rise to 30 places per year.

Stanton CP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 30 places per year.

Thurston CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 30 places per year.

Walsham le Willows CEVCP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will be reduced to 20 places per year.

Woolpit CP
In September 2013, children will remain at this school into Year 5 and in September 2014, they will stay on into Year 6. The admission number will remain at 30 places per year.

Ixworth Middle School
There will be no admission to this school in September 2013 and the school will close in August 2014. The Secretary of State has announced that the Seckford Foundation have been successful in their application to establish a free school on this site.

Thurston Community College
From September 2014 this school will admit children from the age of 11 to 18. There will be 360 places in each year group
