Customer Rights, comments and complaints

Customer Rights works across all services in the Council, to enhance customer service and to act as a focal point for the views and voice of the customer

Customer Rights works directly with our customers and with other organisations in Suffolk with common aims.

Comments, compliments and complaints

We care what you think about us. If things have gone well and you are pleased with something we have done, please let us know.

Please tell us if you have a comment or suggestion about how we might improve things.

If you are not happy about something we have done, or not done, you can make a complaint.

Your comments, compliments and complaints help us to learn what we are doing well and what is not so good. They help us to plan better for the future as we know what works and what doesn't.

Statutory complaints

The Council has certain statutory responsibilities in relation to adults and children, and people who receive those services (social care services) have a right to complain. The Government tells us how we must deal with complaints about those services.

The following leaflets tell you more about statutory complaints procedures:

Having Your Say - Adult Care Services (PDF 108KB)

Having Your Say - Children and Young People's Services (PDF 534KB)

Child Protection Conference: Information for parents and carers - this leaflet includes a section on how to make a complaint about the way the Conference was organised or managed, or about the decisions reached.

Please contact Customer Rights for more information: or telephone the Customer Care Manager on 01473 260711.

Corporate complaints

If your complaint is about any other Suffolk County Council service, you may be able to use the Council's Corporate Complaints procedure:
