Changes to care services
We're making some changes to how care is being provided so that we can provide the essential care that is needed in Suffolk.
Customers will receive a phone call or a visit from their current care provider or Suffolk County Council’s Home First team when their services are affected.
The county council’s adult care team is closely monitoring the safety and wellbeing of all their service users and supporting their most vulnerable customers, who remain a priority.
Those currently receiving care and support will start to see a difference in their service in the coming weeks, or it may be that their care is provided by a different provider.
The council is working across the health and social care system to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in Suffolk and will continue to keep customers updated of any changes as they arise.

Financial assessments for those receiving care to be postponed
(Published 16 Apr 2020) Each April Suffolk County Council carries out an annual financial assessment review for those with care packages.
This year, in light of the current Coronavirus pandemic, a decision has been made to postpone the financial review until further notice.
Therefore, those in receipt of care will continue to be charged in the same way that they are currently and there will be no change in the way in which people make their payments.
The situation will be kept under review, and customers will be informed when the time is right to consider undertaking the annual financial review. No back charges will be incurred as a result of this postponement.

We're experiencing high demand for care services and advice at present. This is understandable given these uncertain times.
However, it’s important that we keep council lines free for vulnerable customers. Please only contact us regarding services where there is an urgent need to do so.
