Welcome from Councillor Judy Terry
"I am proud that the county council is leading on the delivery of the first Suffolk Business Month this September. We do great things here and it is time for us to raise our profile and showcase the county as the place to invest, expand businesses and live.
There are so many opportunities for businesses to thrive in Suffolk. We have some outstanding examples of international business success based here in this marvellous county. These include
- Muntons in Stowmarket
- Greene King in Bury St Edmunds
- Willis in Ipswich
- Orbis energy in Lowestoft
- Felixstowe and Ipswich ports
- Racing and related animal healthcare industries in Newmarket
- Biomedic success at UCS, Ipswich.
What's vital is that other business leaders know about these opportunities and are encouraged to capitalise on them.
Through our Raising the Bar programme, Suffolk County Council is already working to address local skills shortages in some sectors, as well as improving the employability of our young people. Our multi million broadband programme is another major reason for businesses to think about Suffolk when they are looking to set up or expand.
Get involved in Suffolk Business Month and help put Suffolk on the national and international business map.”
