Petroleum is any product of crude petroleum with a flashpoint below 21 degrees centigrade.

You need to apply for a licence to store over 275 litres of petroleum in either a retail or non retail petrol filling station. This includes commercial sites and farms.Start
Before you apply
You will need to know the fuel grade and working capacity of all of your tanks.
You can apply for either a one year or three year licence. The current fees are set out in the table below.

After you apply
You should be contacted within 14 calendar days of submitting your application. If not, please contact us.
You can appeal to Suffolk County Council if your application is denied.
