You can use the social care cost calculator to find out how you might need to pay towards residential or non-residential costs.
What is residential and non-residential care?
Non-residential care is when you receive care in your own home.
Residential care is when you receive care in a different setting, e.g. a care home.
Do I have to pay towards my care?
You will not be asked to contribute to your care support plan if:
- your care is provided as part of an After Care Plan (Section 117 of Mental Health Act)
- you've received confirmation from the NHS that your care will be funded by Continuing Health Care (CHC)
