Blue Badge scheme

How to apply for a Blue Badge and about the eligibility criteria, how to renew or replace your badge and what to do if you are a new applicant.

Service update - 5 February 2019

The Department of Transport is changing the computer system that is used to record and produce Blue Badges for all local authorities in England and Wales. This means that existing data will need to be transferred over into the new system.

The migration of this data will begin on 5 February 2019 and may take a few days to complete. Please note that during this time we may not be able to have access to all Blue Badge application details or previous Blue Badge records and would therefore appreciate your patience during this period.

The Blue Badge scheme helps people with severe mobility problems to access goods and services by allowing them to park close to their destination. The scheme is open to people who travel as a driver or as a passenger.
