Bascule Bridge
The agreed Bascule Bridge closure dates are:
- 8pm Saturday 2 February to 6am Tuesday 5 February
- 8pm Saturday 23 February to 6am Thursday 28 February
- 8pm Saturday 15 March to 6am Monday 17 March
In addition to the main closures a further set of overnight
closures have been programmed in those are;
Proposed overnight closures (8pm to 6 am) on 5, 6, 12 & 13
February.
It was agreed that the temporary footbridge will remain in place
until works are complete and the park and ride at Pakefield will
continue during closure days.
Suffolk County Council Works
Gordon Road Refurbishment of Bus station from 7 January 2008 for
3 months. Gordon Road will be closed.
Stradbroke Road / Bloodmoor Road. Essex & Suffolk Water
will be undertaking new water main supply to new Fire
Station. The works will be mostly off highway and a temporary
pedestrian footway will be created. Works are from 2 January 2008
until 28 March 2008.
Cotmer Road / Bridge Road at Dutchmans. Anglian Water will
use the opportunity to reline sewers 3 March 2008 for 7 nights.
Traffic will be controlled using temporary traffic lights.
Network Rail Works
Prospect Road / Borrow Road rail bridge. Re pointing and repairs
of the brickwork. 2 February until 1 March 2008. Network Rail will
use the opportunity presented by the main Bascule Bridge scheme
closures to repair this bridge.
