Suffolk County Council is under contract with Suffolk
Constabulary to compile and maintain a database of all the road
accidents involving personal injury, occurring on the highway, that
have been attended by, or reported to, Suffolk Constabulary.
The Research and Monitoring Group at Suffolk County Council
maintains and inputs data to the digital mapping database holding
the accident data, and also provides regular data analyses.
The accident data are used in the setting and monitoring of
local and national targets, and in studies in association with the
council’s road safety team, Suffolk Camera Partnership, Suffolk
Constabulary and many other clients.
The following annual reports give information on accident
numbers, trends and performance on targets.
