Our roads are inspected at least twice a year and footways
inspected at least once a year – how often inspections take place
depends on the classification of the road or footway. These
inspections are undertaken to detect defects with the potential
to present a danger or nuisance to the travelling public, and
to rectify them with an appropriate degree of urgency. When a
defect is found or is reported to us we will take the
necessary action, depending on the size and location of the
defect.
Trunk roads are managed by Atkins on behalf of the
Highways Agency. Any
questions regarding these roads should be directed to W S
Atkins rather than Suffolk County Council. Potholes in
Ipswich should be directed
to
Ipswich Borough
Council.
