Maintaining the roads and pavements in Suffolk to prevent injury to road users.

Hazards on roads or pavements caused as a result of an accident, damage, poor maintenance or vandalism may be considered a risk to the public and could result in personal injury to pedestrians, road users or possible damage to property or vehicles.

Trunk roads are managed by W S Atkins on behalf of the Highways Agency. Any questions regarding these roads should be directed to them rather than Suffolk County Council.

Reporting a problem

When reporting a problem, please try and include as much of the following information as possible:

  • date and approximate time of damage;
  • description and detail of the damage;
  • is there a continuing danger to life and limb?;
  • location on street, for example a house number or road junction;
  • nature of problem which caused injury;
  • persons or vehicle registration responsible for damage;
  • size of defect e.g. pothole size, trip height etc;
  • street name and area;
  • whether the police were in attendance; and
  • your name and a contact number.
