Transport assistance is only
available to students who live in Suffolk and whose parents or
guardians pay their council tax to a district or borough council in
Suffolk and who are a baptised Roman Catholic (or are adhering to
the Roman Catholic faith).
The discretionary policy for assistance to denominational schools
is the same as the discretionary travel scheme for children of
compulsory age with the following exceptions:
- If a child started at a school prior to September 2005 and
remains at that school, then a parental contribution will not be
charged until they move to a new school.
- If a child starts a new school or changes school, a parental
contribution to transport will be charged under the same terms and
conditions of Suffolk County Council's discretionary
policy.
To qualify for transport assistance pupils need to attend their
“nearest” or “designated” Roman Catholic Schools as identified by
the county council.
