From the May 11 until September
2008, necessary sewer works will necessitate the closure of the
junction between Upper Brook Street, Dogs Head Street and Tacket
Street. As a result several bus services will be
diverted
Town Centre Bus Services
May 11th - For 4 weeks
All inbound Ipswich Buses services from the south and west
towards Tower Ramparts will run via Civic Drive and Crown Street,
therefore not serving Princes Street (upper), Queen Street or Pals.
An additional stop will be provided at Civic Drive (Axa).
Outbound services 1, 3, 6, 61, 62 will run from Pals via Old Cattle
Market bus station and Star Lane to Bond Street, omitting Tacket
Street and Fore Street.
All outbound services from Pals and Old Cattle Market bus
station that would normally use Upper Brook Street will operate via
Star Lane, Bond Street, St. Helens Street, then as normal, omitting
Upper Brook Street, Northgate Street and Great Colman Street.
All inbound services that would normally use Tacket Street will
instead be diverted via Bond Street and Majors Corner, omitting
Tacket Street, Upper Brook Street and Northgate Street.
Thereafter until September 2008
Once the works at the above junction are completed, they will
move into Upper Brook Street. From that date services will divert
thus:
All inbound Ipswich Buses services from the south and west towards
Tower Ramparts will run via Civic Drive and Crown Street, therefore
not serving Queen Street or Pals.
All outbound services from Old Cattle Market bus station that would
normally use Upper Brook Street will operate via Tacket Street,
Bond Street, St. Helens Street, then as normal, also omitting Great
Colman Street and Northgate Street.
All inbound services that would normally use Tacket Street will
instead be diverted via Bond Street and Majors Corner, omitting
Tacket Street, Upper Brook Street and Northgate Street.
Park & Ride Services
All service 800 from Martlesham and to London Road will be
unaffected.
All service 801 to and from Bury Road will operate as normal to
Museum Street and additionally serve Queen Street before returning
via Civic Drive to Bury Road, omitting Pals, Upper Brook Street and
Northgate Street. A further temporary stop will be placed outside
Anglia House.
All service 802 from London Road and to Martlesham will operate via
Old Cattle Market bus station and Star Lane to Bond Street,
omitting Upper Brook Street and Great Colman
Street.

Shuttle Bus - Service 38
May 11th for 4 weeks
All service 38 services will operate from Pals via Old Cattle
Market bus station and Star Lane to Bond Street, omitting Tacket
Street.
Thereafter until September 2008
Subsequently, the junction will be reopened, although Upper
Brook Street will remain closed for further works. The 38
service will therefore be able to revert to its normal route,
although there may continue to be delays due to traffic
congestion.
