Ipswich - transport fit for the 21st century

Ipswich - Transport Fit for the 21st Century

The County Council has developed a comprehensive major scheme business case 'Ipswich - Transport Fit for the 21st Century'. The scheme includes new bus stations, a computerised traffic management system, real time bus information and improvements to make it easier to walk and cycle around Ipswich town centre. We estimate that the scheme will cost about £17 million.

As part of our Provisional Local transport Plan we have asked the Government to provide the funds for this scheme so that we can start to build it in 2007/2008. We expect to get a response to our bid after the end of January 2006.
