Automatic Fire Alarms (AFA) |
Responding to an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA), where a
fire is unconfirmed, by mobilising a single appliance under blue
lights.
In response to an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA), where a fire is
not confirmed, a single appliance will be mobilised under blue
lights.
- If a further call is received stating that there is no fire,
the attending appliance will be immediately stood down and will
resume normal duties;
- in the event of receiving a call to a domestic alarm we will
mobilise a standard emergency response (i.e. two appliances);
- mobilising Control will be authorised to dispatch other
appliances as required based on the nature of the call; and
- the responding appliance will remain available for redirection
throughout the entire incident should an incident of higher
priority occur at the same time. This option will be
available unless confirmation is received of a fire at the original
incident.
