- Be aged between 17 years and 6 months and 18 years,
as a minimum age, to apply as a firefighter. This ensures
that you are at least 18 yrs old when you start.
- Undergo job specific colour vision checks to establish any
confusion between blue & green or black & maroon.
- Have good hearing to set standards.
- Satisfactorily pass a medical examination carried out by Fire
and Rescue Occupational Health department.
- Submit a birth certificate or proof of age.
- If you have served in the armed forces, relevent discharge
papers must be produced.
- Declare any current convictions.
- Be prepared to serve anywhere in the county.
- Provide relevant original documentation if asked of permission
to work or reside in the UK.
