For all efforts to be applied in a focused manner to reducing
risk in the community, an integrated approach is required. This
integrated approach is designed to aligned corporate and service
level objectives and priorities to district level community safety
objectives, targets and priorities.
The integration of plans will ensure that national, corporate
and service level targets and priorities are translated into
practical actions within the communities of Suffolk. District plans
will enable station and individual action plans to be developed and
implemented in a focused manner.
The integrated approach ensures that all planning forms part of
a wider total package, rather than any plan being developed in
isolation. This will enable the efforts of all partners, agencies
and departments and the service to be brought together and for
opportunities for collaborative working to be identified and put in
place.
For the planning process to be effective all district plans must
be aligned to the objectives and priorities outlined within the
Community Safety Plan. District plans must translate the
organisational level priorities and objectives within this plan
into practical activities which are considered by Officers locally
to deliver the improvements required at Service level. This
application of local knowledge of the community and skills within a
district will ensure that all efforts will be applied to known
areas of risk whilst at the same time taking into account the wider
issues, trends and the priorities identified at service
level.
