In order to allow us to better understand the crime levels and
trends in Suffolk, the Research and Information Team in the
Community Safety Unit have produced an on-line, interactive
resource that displays crime and other incident statistics.
This includes: monthly incident levels; comparisons with previous
years; and a breakdown of overall incidents in each district and
borough ward in Suffolk. This can be accessed through the link
below. Click 'Open' or 'Yes' when the 'File Download' dialog
appears and the navigation page will open in your web
browser.
The latest versions of the interactive statistics are now
available. Please note that these versions are currently under
development. A message may appear on this version that will state
“The document you are opening contains macros.” Please select ‘Yes’
if you would like to use the full functionality of the
resource.
The data within this resource is based on criminal offences
which are recorded by Suffolk Police and the East Anglian
Ambulance Service.

Technical Notes
Crime data is based on
the ‘date first committed’ as recorded for each offence. Due to
some inaccuracies in the geographical mapping of this data, and
changes in classification, there may be some inconsistencies
between these and other recorded crime statistics published by
Suffolk Police.
