Each year, art students
at Suffolk schools get the opportunity to exhibit their work
at Endeavour House.
The process – which is open to all High Schools in the county –
begins with the Heads of Art at each school selecting two pieces of
‘A’ level work produced by their students in the previous academic
year.
Details, including images, of the work are sent to Endeavour House
and an independent curator begins to plan the exhibition, which
also takes in a large part of the County Council’s permanent
collection. This year, the exhibition has attracted entries from 22
schools, with a total of 43 young artists showcasing their
art.
The work is obviously created in the context of the themes and
subjects set by the examining board syllabus, yet the variety and
high quality of work demonstrates the enormous wealth of artistic
talent and creativity in the county’s schools. The 2008 exhibition,
as in previous years, reflects the skills and dedication of pupils
and staff alike.
