achieving sustainable development in the county.
Within this section, you can find information about planning
policy, Suffolk’s Structure Plan, Minerals and Waste Development
Plan documents, development control (including minerals and waste
planning) and much more.
The overall aim of Suffolk County Council’s planning and
building functions are:
- to exercise planning control over mineral extraction, waste
management facilities and the county council’s own development and
advise on other proposals;
- to meet Suffolk’s economic, job, housing, transport, social,
environmental and recreational needs; and
- to prepare, help implement and monitor the effectiveness of
policies for the sustainable development of
Suffolk.
