04 November 2008 - 170,000 Suffolk Take Over Day – 7th November 2008
The second-ever national Takeover Day will take place on Friday 7th November 2008 when young people will be given the chance to make decisions in businesses and other organisations around the country. In Suffolk there are around 170,000 children and young people, and many of them will be taking part in a variety of activities this week.
04 November 2008 - A new Children's Centre for Felixstowe
Sea Breeze Children’s Centre, which celebrates its official opening on Thursday, 13 November will be a community facility offering high quality information, support and services to families with children from the Felixstowe area.

04 November 2008 - Illegal laser pens seized
Just days after an Ipswich teenager was convicted of using a green laser pointer to temporarily blind the pilot of the Police helicopter, the county’s trading standards officers have seized a consignment of similar laser pointers.

Suffolk County Council has announced that it is in discussions with two companies to operate and improve its Household Waste Recycling Centres from next year.
18 November 2008 - Joint Scrutiny meeting between Suffolk County Council and Waveney District Council on Highway Liaison Processes in Suffolk
At its meeting on 8 September 2008, Suffolk County Council Roads and Transport Scrutiny Committee agreed to consider the processes in place to manage works taking place on the highway and in particular, through a Joint Scrutiny with Waveney District Council, to use the recent and on-going road closures at A12 Bascule Bridge as an example to investigate.
18 November 2008 - Kombat UK fined £20,000 for selling unsafe stab vests
Kombat UK have today been fined £20,000 and forced to pay £3,000 costs after Suffolk Trading Standards purchased stab vests from the company’s website which were found to be unsafe and falsely described.

Local authorities are today thanking residents for their tremendous efforts in bringing Suffolk’s recycling and composting rate to above 50% for the first time.

A showcase for Suffolk’s adults and communities is set to take place later this week (20th November) at Endeavour House in Ipswich between 11am and 3pm.

Businesses across Suffolk are today being warned that Suffolk Trading Standards will not tolerate the sale of cigarettes to those under the age of 18. Any retailer caught doing so may face fines of up to £2,500.
