Office

branch of the
Suffolk Record Office. Payment by credit card can be made
by downloading the
credit card form and posting or faxing it to the correct
branch.
Copies of items including documents, photographs and maps can be
ordered for private study, non-commercial research and
educational purposes. If you wish to use any items for
exhibitions, displays, websites or other publications, or have any
queries about copyright or ordering copies, please contact the
relevant branch of the
Suffolk Record Office for further discussion.

Map pack - this pack has been compiled to
assist researchers. It contains five diagrammatic maps of Suffolk
ecclesiastical and administrative areas. Copies may be

Have you ever wondered about the parish where your ancestors
lived?
The contents are:
Early Ordnance Survey maps (will give you an overview of the
parish and its surroundings).
- County directories from 1844, 1874 and 1900 (will list some of
the occupants of the village. This can be especially useful if your
ancestors ran commercial premises such as the local pub or
blacksmith's forge).
- Pocket histories (will supply background information on the
parish including the church, manor and school).
- Copy photographs.
Most Suffolk parishes can be supplied upon request. TOWN PACKS
for Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft are now available.

George Milner-Gibson-Cullum FSA (1857-1921). It consists of 4,000

Trery images - Henry Charles Trery was a
specialist animal painter, making these Lowestoft sketches
unusual subjects. The six lithographs reproduced have been
selected from nine plates originally published in a volume
entitled: Sketches in Lowestoft by H C Trery, inscribed
to Samuel Morton Peto Esquire M.P. of Somerleyton Hall,
Suffolk. These sketches in Lowestoft are with permission
respectfully dedicated by his obedient servant, H
Trery. The volume was published on July 5th 1852.

- A steam packet discharching cattle in Lowestoft harbour
- The Royal Hotel as seen from the end of South Pier
