Free searchroom service If you have ancestors that come
from Suffolk or you wish to research something in or about Suffolk
itself, why not come and visit us? Our trained and
knowledgeable staff are on hand to advise both beginners and
experts on using the records, so ask them to help you. Anyone
can view the archives; we have some of the more popular records -
like the parish registers, census returns and newspapers - on
microfilm or microfiche to make it easier for you to use them and
to save wear and tear on the originals

Research service If you're investigating anything to do with
Suffolk and live many miles away, or simply don't have enough time
to do the research yourself, we can find out the information for
you. Just tell us what you need

Copying service We can supply you with copies of many of
our documents in our collections, in a variety of formats

Parish register copying service If you are researching
your family history and live many miles away, or simply don't have
enough time to visit us, we can supply all types of Suffolk parish
registers to you on either microfiche or microfilm

- We offer a number of services to help you to care for your own
archives from archive friendly paper clips to conservation.

institutions are designed to provide the optimum conditions
for the preservation of archives, but private individuals can also
ensure survival of their archives if certain general principles are
