Who Lived in Your House? Getting
Started
Using a variety of maps - tithe, enclosure
and district valuation, tax returns, census and directories, find
out the social history of your property. An introductory talk is
followed by a case study and a short planning session to help you
decide how to research your property.
The course costs £10.00. Additional information sources
will be available such as leaflets on the sources, a list of useful
internet sites, tips and hints as well as common research
problems and how to cope with them.
Who Lived in Your House? Continue your
Quest
Travel further back in time using deeds,
manorial records and wills to discover more about the people who
lived in your property. An introductory talk is followed by a case
study and a short planning session to help you assess how best to
use these additional resources.

problems and how to cope with them.
