How do I get a library card?
It's free. If
you live in, work in, or visit Suffolk you can go to any
Suffolk library with proof of address. If you live
in Suffolk or a neighbouring county you can complete the
online form and have your card posted to you. If you
are 16 or under you will need a guarantor.
To use any of our
online
services you will also need a PIN.

You can update your record and get
a replacement library card by taking proof of identification
into any Suffolk library. There is a charge for a replacement
library card. Please

How do I renew my
books?
You
can renew your books
online,
by telephone on 01473 584563 (available 24/7 with
an out-of-hours answering service) or at any Suffolk
library up to six times unless it is reserved by someone
else. Any overdue charges or new hire charges (eg for
DVDs) will be logged to your account up to a given
credit limit, for payment when you are next in the library
How we contact you
We can contact you by email
or text for free or by post for a small charge. We
can let you know when your reservations have arrived, send you
a reminder when your titles are due back and tell
you when they are overdue. You can tell us how to
contact you by logging on at

For pre overdues please contact a member of
staff.
How do I book a computer?
You can
book a
computer at all
Suffolk libraries
and
Suffolk Record Offices except Long Melford. You can
book for up to two hours a day free, up to 21 days
in advance with a maximum of 15 bookings every 21
days. Additional sessions are charged at £1 per hour subject
to availability. Also, most libraries have computers that are
available without a booking.

Borrowers who are unable to
use the free book lending service because of disability may borrow
some titles free of charge and for longer periods. There is a
request service for books which are not in stock or on
order in Suffolk libraries. You can borrow, reserve, renew or
return titles at any
Suffolk
library (useful if you live in one town but work in another for
instance).
