Shirley Bignell was born in Guyana, South America but grew up in London and Surrey and now lives in Suffolk. An experience speaker working with children and adults, she entertained Rosehill Top Timers with her talk about the culture of Guyana and her family and poems performed in dialect. Her poetry presentations were based on “Talking Caribbean”, the CD/Book she produced to support teachers delivering Caribbean poetry.
