National Year of Reading - Author visit

Pupils from the Warren School in Lowestoft visited Oulton Broad
Library On Friday 10 October to listen to stories by well
known children’s author
David Bedford who was there as part our National
National Year of Reading celebrations.
The author, known for his popular and colourful picture books and
junior novels such as The Football Machine Series, told several
stories and answered children’s questions regarding his career, his
inspiration for writing and the many wonderful characters that he
has developed.
Diane Moore, Manager at the library, said: “All the children
appeared to have a fantastic time and asked some very interesting
questions. We hope to arrange similar visits in the future,
as it is a great opportunity for them.”
Mr Bedford has published 47 books since he made the transition
from a Scientist to a writer in 1997. His new book ‘Little
Bear Big Jumpers’ is available now.
