Sunday 31 August, Martial Arts Display

To mark August's National Year of Reading theme - Read the Game, using the influence of sport to help promote reading - the local Kuk Sool Won group gave a demonstration of Korean martial arts which kept the audience enthralled. About 25 people of all ages watched as the eight members demonstrated the various techniques of Kuk Sool Won, finishing with breaking blocks of wood with fist and feet!

Barnardo's Big ToddleAbout 40 people joined us on our Toddle on Sunday 8 June. Toddler's enjoyed a story time before setting off on a 'nature trail' and Toddle around Christchurch Park. Luckily the sun was shining and we even spotted terrapins in the wildlife pond as part of the nature trail.

Everyone enjoyed our National Year of Reading themed "escape to the park" day and we raised lots of money!

The Big Toddle is in aid of Barnado's. You can find more details at the website www.bigtoddle.co.uk.
