Monday Doors open at 8.30am come and meet the Bookstart Bear.
10.30am a special story time session with a holiday theme bring your sunglasses, bucket and spade along to our beach!
Children's Centre and LEAP taster and information sessions available. life in the UK, have a go at answering UK citizenship questions in the LEAP Centre
Tuesday 10.30am Peppa Pig themed story time
Wednesday 10.30am Bookstart Baby Bounce
10.00am-4.00pm Health and Wellbeing information event in the Conference Room.
11.00am-2.00pm Make felt bookmarks with a craft tutor in the LEAP Centre
Thursday 10.30am Bookstart Tot Rock
Children's Centre and LEAP taster and information sessions available.
Friday 10.00am-12.00noon Top Time taster sessions drop in any time between the times advertised to try various activities available for our Top Time groups. Taster sessions will include the art group, reading group and chair yoga
Saturday and Sunday Join us for the Space Hop Summer Reading Challenge Presentations

Everyday

There will be a TopTime Art exhibition on display in the library – the Art Group meet once a month as a part of the weekly TopTime activities and this exhibition is just a taster of some of their work.

Design a Tour of Britain Jersey. Aged 3 – 16? Enter our competition to design a cycling jersey for the chance win a great prize – closing date Saturday 11 September. Ask staff for more details.

Taster Sessions

Taster sessions available in the LEAP Centre Monday - Thursday will include: 

  • Try out your English and Maths skills with an interactive quiz
  • ‘Life in the UK’: Have a go at answering UK Citizenship questions
  • ‘Opinion Poles’.  Use your vote to answer our Question Of The Week
  • Careers Advice Direct.  Answer questions to discover your ideal career
  • IAG Stand.  Adviser available for quick conversations (and to make appointments)
  • ‘Estimate the weight of the cake’.  Use your numeracy skills and have a go!

Taster and Information sessions in the Children’s Centre this week may include:

  • Baby Massage
  • Stay and play
  • Baby signing
  • Topic Time

11 – 17 September 2010 Suffolk Libraries Cycling Challenge – Tour of Britain

This is a countywide challenge to cycle the 50.2 miles of the Suffolk part of the Tour of Britain race which is coming to the county on the 17 September. Customers and staff will be using their bicycles during the week leading up to the race and letting us know how far they have cycled. We will have a Design a Jersey competition for the children and safety checks for bicycles

Sunday activities

The library is open every Sunday, come along and enjoy a relaxed friendly atmosphere where you can chat, listen to music, surf the net or try IT taster sessions, as well as borrow books, films, music and games. For more information go to our Sunday activities page.
