- African Fiction Collection consists of novels,
short stories, crime, supernatural, historical and romance, written
by Black British authors, and writers of African descent, the
fiction collection illustrates the experiences of black people
around the world.
- African fiction is shelved with the general
fiction in the library and can be recognised by the the green dot
on the spine.
- The non-fiction collection includes
biographies, historical facts, geography, politics, art, religion,
culture, eductation, health, beauty, literature, and poetry. The
collection is shelved separately and again can be identified by a
green spot.
- Music and dance collection
includes reggae, jazz, blues, calypso, house, ragga, salsa,
trance, garage, drum and base.
- Videos and DVDs are located with the main
collection in the lending area at County Library Ipswich,where
there is a selection of feature and world collection videos
and DVDs.

- Ebony - monthly glossy magazine about Black
America, emphasizing the positive side to Black life, with articles
on the high achievers in the Black community.
- Echoes - the essential Black music magazine,
including a comprehensive guide to gigs
- The Voice - Britain's fortnightly Black
current affairs newspaper.
