Suffolk celebrates National Year of Reading logo 2008


Nick Sharratt visited Suffolk on Friday 5 December


Author and illustrator Nick Sharratt visited, St Edmund's Catholic Primary School, Bury St Edmunds on Friday 5 December and spoke to the whole school. He also visited Sexton's Manor County Primary School and Bury Record Office. In the late afternoon an open session was held at Bury St Edmunds Library where 25 members of the public attended to hear Nick Sharrat speak.  Waterstones book shop had a stall at the library so everyone could buy Nick Sharrat's books.

Manga Recon event at Stoke Library, Ipswich

TokyoPop Recon logo Stoke Library and Stoke High School hosted a Manga Recon event on Tuesday 16 December from 6.00pm - 8.00pm. About 90 Manga enthusiasts, including over 60 youngsters, came along to the mini Manga convention which included books, magazines, free refreshments and Cosplay (dressing up as your favourite Manga character) as well as the opportunity to play Nintendo and Wii games.
